Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year (2025)
Anzevui was named the seventh head coach in program history on November 8, 2022, after serving as interim head coach since January 21, 2022. He joined the Sacred Heart men’s soccer staff on August 20, 2014.
In 2025, Anzevui led Sacred Heart to an undefeated MAAC regular-season championship with a 7–0–3 record in conference, advancing to the MAAC Conference Final. He was named the 2025 MAAC Coach of the Year after finishing with an overall record of 9–4–5. Sacred Heart concluded the season ranked No. 49 nationally in the RPI and was listed in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Top 10 for four weeks. The Pioneers broke multiple Division I program records, including an 11-match unbeaten streak and 32 goals scored. The team earned five First Team All-Conference selections, tied for the most in the nation in 2025. Sacred Heart also claimed two major MAAC awards, as Daniel Losfablos was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and Luca Marinelli earned MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors. Aidan Borra (’24) also signed professionally with Westchester SC in USL League One.In 2024, Anzevui guided the Pioneers to their third consecutive postseason appearance. With an overall record of 8–6–2, 3-3-2 in conference. Sacred Heart broke the Division I program record for goals scored with 27 and was ranked as high as No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches East Region. David Garcia Gallego earned First Team All-MAAC honors, while Matthias Dick and Sam McCann were named Third Team All-Conference selections. Andrew Hammersley signed professionally with Westchester SC in USL League One and Ivan Breki Sigurdsson signed professionally with Selfloss in the Icelandic second division.
In 2023, Sacred Heart made history again by reaching its first-ever Conference Final. The team finished fourth in the NEC with an overall record of 6–8–5, 3-2-4 in conference. Etienne Murugarren earned First Team All-NEC honors, while sophomore forward David Garcia Gallego received his second consecutive Second Team All-NEC selection. First-year forward Alex Almuzara was named to the All-Rookie Team.
During his first season at the helm, Anzevui guided the Pioneers to their first Division I postseason victory in program history with a 1–0 win over Saint Francis in the 2022 NEC Tournament First Round. The team finished with an overall record of 7–9–1, 4–3–1 in conference. First-year player David Garcia Gallego and sophomore Etienne Murugarren were selected to the NEC Second Team. Gallego also joined first-years Koke Gracia Martinez and Javier Lopez Cayuela on the All-Rookie Team.
Anzevui was a three-time NEC All-Conference defender at Sacred Heart University. He helped lead the Pioneers to several impressive seasons, including the largest single-season turnaround in conference history, which resulted in the program’s first-ever Division I playoff appearance in 2005. He followed that with another postseason appearance in 2007.
Prior to his collegiate career, Anzevui spent time in the youth academies of Sunderland A.F.C. and York City F.C. in England. He graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and later earned a master’s degree in Corporate Communications and Public Relations in 2014.
Anzevui began his professional playing career with the Western Massachusetts Pioneers in the USL (2009). He later trained in preseason camp with FC Sion of the Swiss Super League before signing with FC Martigny in the Swiss 1. Liga, where he played from 2011 to 2013.
He holds coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and The Football Association.
Anzevui resides in Stratford, Connecticut, with his wife, Lindsay, and their children, Noah, Kit, and Lola.
