Men's Golf In 11th Place After Opening Round of Connecticut Cup

ELLINGTON, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished the first round of the Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club in 11^th place on Monday.

Ross Kronberg (New Canaan, Conn.) was the Pioneers' low scorer for the round, posting a three-over 75 to put him in a tie for 16^th individually. Sam Barber (North Bay, Ontario) and Dominic Formato (Queens, N.Y.) each carded 78s on Monday. Will Smittle (Scarsdale, N.Y.) rounded out the Sacred Heart scoring group on Monday with a round of 80.

As a team, Sacred Heart finished the day with a team score of 310. The Pioneers are one shot behind Central Connecticut and Siena for ninth. Hartford leads the team competition by two strokes over Connecticut, with Rhode Island, Bryant, and Colgate rounding out the top-five.

Darkness halted Monday's second round. The second round will be finished Tuesday morning before the final round.
