
Men's Golf Stays In Third Place After Second Round Of NEC Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sacred Heart men's golf team is in the third spot of the NEC Championship leaderboard after Saturday's second round at LPGA International.
Matt Shubley and AJ Correia represent the Pioneers in the top-10 as both are in the group tied for 8th at one over par. Shubley shot even par 72 Saturday thanks to an eagle on the fifth hole, and three straight birdies at the turn. Correia also had a run of three straight birdies from holes 12 to 14 on the way to a one-over 73.
Just one shot behind Shubley and Correia, Hector Gutierrez is tied for 11th after a second round 75 has him at two-over for the tournament. Tom D'Andrea and Connor Cunningham both find themselves among the group tied for 22nd at seven over par. D'Andrea finished the second round with a five-over par 77, while Cunningham shot a six-over 78.
At +10 for the tournament, SHU sits five shots back of Bryant who are in second at five over par. Wagner continues to lead leads the tournament at four under par.
