
Pioneers Start SHU Fall Classic in 2nd

MILFORD, Conn. – It's been a successful fall for the Sacred Heart University women's golf team and the Pioneers are looking to end the season with another victory. The host Pioneers are in second after the first day of the SHU Fall Classic on Sunday at the Great River Golf Club.
SHU started with a 310 to trail Boston University by three strokes. Albany is eight behind the Pioneers.
Pacing all players is junior Kailee Welch as she notched a 71 to lead by two strokes. Sophomore Chantal El Chaib posted a 74 to start the tournament in third. Classmate Margot Rouquette tallied an 81 and rookie Jensie Nicholas added an 84. Senior Chelsea Thakkar posted an 89.
Three Pioneers are in the field as individuals. Senior Christina Massei carded an 88 to start the tournament. Sophomore Kerry Kline and senior Cora Koproski posted identical 103.
