
Sansbury Captures Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week

The first-year tallied five blocked shots in the BU series
WALTHAM, Mass. – In the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey weekend series at #12 Boston University, first-year Hunter Sansbury showed off his defensive skills in the Red & White. The defenseman tallied five blocked shots and four shots on goal in the Pioneer's two-game series to earn Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week.
It's the first weekly honor for the first-year and the second by a Pioneer this season. Mercyhurst claimed one award as Anthony Carson Briere earned Player of the Week. Noah Wilson from Army West Point was named Defensive Player of the Week while Nicholas Grabko of Bentley took Goaltender of the Week.
The Lomita, Calif., native led the Pioneers in blocked shots on the weekend and sits tied for second on the squad in blocks with six across three games.
The Pioneers continue their road swing this week to take on the University of Maine for a pair of games Oct. 22-23 at 7:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
