FAIRFIELD, Conn.-Â The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team wraps up their six game road swing this week as they begin a two game series with Maine on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Last Time Out... SHU is entering Friday's series with an 1-3 overall record with the Pioneers capturing their first win of the year on October 15 with a 3-2 victory over #12 Boston University. Senior Ryan Steele fired the game winning goal in the final 13 seconds to give the Pioneers the victory.
Last Meeting....This is the first ever meeting between Maine and Sacred Heart. The meeting will be the fourth straight Hockey East opponent the Pioneers have faced this season.
Scouting The Black Bears... The Black Bears currently started the season with a pair of losses to #17 University of Nebraska-Omaha on October 8-9 by scores of 4-1 and 5-3. Four players are currently tied for goals. In net lies Victor Ostman who has a GAA of 4.13 and an 0-2-0 record. He's recorded 48 saves in the opening two games this season. Â
Sansbury Captures AHA Rookie of the Week..... First-year
Hunter Sansbury showed off his defensive skills in the Red & White. The defenseman tallied five blocked shots and four shots on goal in the Pioneer's two-game series to earn Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week. The Lomita, Calif., native led the Pioneers in blocked shots on the weekend and sits tied for second on the squad in blocks with six across three games.

A New Face....The Pioneers travel this week to take on the University of Maine for a pair of games for the first time beginning Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Pioneers have had their fair share of Hockey East opponents this season facing three (Boston University, Merrimack and UConn).

Tuck on Track for Career Year... Junior
Braeden Tuck has recorded three goals in just four games played this season. His career high came a year ago when he tallied fix goals and 10 assists for 16 points. He currently sits third in Atlantic Hockey in goals this year.

First Win Relief... The Pioneers captured their first win of the year in style defeating #12 Boston University in the closing seconds of the third period with a goal by
Ryan Steele to skate away with the 3-2 victory. Junior netminder
Justin Robbins picked up his first win of the year recording a career high 23 saves.
