
Dawson Captures AHA Defensive Player of the Week

The junior grabs his first weekly nod
WALTHAM, Mass. – In the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey matches against Air Force on Friday and Saturday night, junior Patrick Dawson was the top defenseman in the pair of games. Dawson tallied one goal and one assist alongside two blocks to award himself Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week.
It's the first weekly honor for the Medway, Mass. native and the sixth by a Pioneer this season. AIC's Jake Stella garnered Player of the Week while Army West Point's Gavin Abric earned Goalie of the Week. RIT's Carter Wilkie was awarded Rookie of the Week.
Dawson recorded his first points of the season in Saturday's matchup with one goal and an assist. He also tallied one blocked shot in the contest.
The Pioneers continue their four-game series at Air Force Monday at 9:05 p.m. ET.
