FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team dug too big of a hole to get out of in the first half on Saturday against Bryant University. The Pioneers dropped a 15-10 Northeast Conference decision to the Bulldogs.

Of Note:
Just 32 seconds into the contest, junior Grace Reinold found the back of the net to give SHU an early lead.

Bryant took advantage of a SHU turnover to tie the game then won three-straight draw controls to grab a 4-1 lead it wouldn't relinquish the rest of the day.

Reinold's second goal of the day pulled SHU within 5-3 with 19:15 to play but the Bulldogs outscored SHU, 5-2, the rest of the half to take a 10-15 lead into the locker room.

Bryant scored the first two goals of the second half, but SHU worked its way back into the game thanks to a 4-0 run. Taylor Sweeney scored back-to-back goals to narrow the margin to 12-9 at the 9:11 mark.

The Bulldogs put the game out of reach with three-straight goals.

The visitors had slight advantages in draw controls (14-11), shots (33-30), and ground balls (22-17) that added up to the victory.
