
NEC Releases Preseason Men’s Soccer Poll

PIONEERS SLATED TO FINISH NINTH
SOMERSET, N.J.— The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team was picked to finish ninth in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Defending champion St. Francis Brooklyn received eight first-place votes to take the top spot. LIU was second with two first-place votes.
The Pioneers return familiar faces and welcome eight new players to the squad. Last season, Sacred Heart tied for third in the NEC in shots (79) and assists per game (6). Lucas Miquel Castrillo, who was named Second-Team All-NEC, is among the top returners. The junior midfielder made seven starts while racking up seven shots and one assist for the Pioneers.
