Men’s Soccer Season Comes to an End in NEC Semifinals

Pioneers made postseason for the first time since 2016
HACKENSACK, N.J.— The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team saw its season come to an end in the Northeast Conference semifinals as it fell 3-0 to No. 1 Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday.

Sacred Heart: 7-9-1, 4-3-1 NEC
FDU: 9-5-3, 6-0-2 NEC
The first half was scoreless for both teams. The Pioneers had chances on the net from first year Matthias Dick and junior Olliver Persson, but were saved by FDU goalkeeper Spencer King.
The Knights got on the board in the 47th minute on a long kick from Jordan Alonge that hit the top of the crossbar and into the net. Alonge tallied two more goals, finishing the contest with a hat trick.
Senior goalkeeper Justin Siegel collected three saves and finished his career 11th all-time in career saves.
Head coach Anthony Anzevui will need to replace a trio of senior starters, but does return Persson and Zach Lorenz. In addition he'll have All-Conference honoreesin David Garcia Gallego, Koke Gracia Martinez and Jaiver Lopez Cayuela back next season.
