Senior went for 1-1-2 in win over Northeastern
WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior Logan Britt (Crystal Lake, Ill.) of the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team has been named Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, for the week ending on Dec. 11, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.
Britt chalked up a pair of points (1-1-2) in SHU's only game last week, a 4-2 triumph over Northeastern on home ice Tuesday night. The Prairie State native provided the primary assist on the game's opening goal, and later tallied the game-winner himself, with a strong individual effort late in the second period. Britt finished the night with two shots on goal, blocked one shot and was +1.
On the season, Britt has played in all 16 games for the Pios and has recorded five points (1-4-5). He has recorded 22 shots and blocked 15, the latter of which ranks second on the team. It is his first Atlantic Hockey honor of the season, and his fourth career weekly award.
The Northeastern contest wrapped up the first semester for SHU (8-7-1), which returns to action at home with an Atlantic Hockey series against Mercyhurst on Dec. 29-30. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday and 4 p.m. on Friday at Total Mortgage Arena.
