Sacred Heart looks to bounce back in NEC play on the road at LIU
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart men's basketball team travels to Long Island for its second Northeast Conference game. The Pioneers are 6-9 and 0-1 in NEC play while the Sharks are 2-11 and 0-1 in the conference. The two teams meet for the first time since the NEC quarterfinal last season.

- This is the 28th meeting between Long Island and Sacred Heart. The Sharks hold a 10-17 advantage in the series.The Pioneers and the Sharks met three times last season, twice in the regular season and the third in the NEC Quarterfinal. LIU came away with an 82-75 victory. In the game, Nico Galette went off for a career-high 26 points with 10 rebounds to end the season with a double-double.
- The Pioneers lost its NEC opener to Stonehill at home on Thursday, 74-67.
- Galette has scored in double figures in every game this season as he leads the team with 15.9 points per game. Raheem Solomon (12.2), and senior Joey Reilly (10.5) are also averaging double figures for the Pioneers.
- Junior Bryce Johnson has three double-doubles this season, and Galette has two. Johnson leads the team in rebounds, 6.0 per game, and Galette is second with 4.6.
- The Pioneers had Aidan Carpenter and Brendan McGuire back in the lineup against Stonehill, for the first time together since the season opener at Hartford.
- This season, Galette earned NEC Player of the Week once and has been a three-time Prime Performer.
