Pioneers Hit the Road to Take on Pitt

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team travels to the University of Pittsburgh on Saturday with a 3:30 PM start for the teams' first meeting. The Pioneers are playing their only ACC opponent of the season.

This is the first meeting between Sacred Heart and the University of Pittsburgh. The Pioneers are coming off a 61-59 loss to Fairfield on Wednesday night.
Juniors Mike Sixsmith and Bryce Johnson led Sacred Heart with 13 points each against Fairfield. Junior Aidan Carpenter made his return after being out since the first game of the season.
Junior Nico Galette has scored in double figures in every game this season, he leads the team with 16.4 points per game. Graduate transfer, Raheem Solomon (12.1), and senior Joey Reilly (11.3) are also averaging in double figures.
Galette and Johnson have both recorded two double-doubles each this season.
Johnson leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.9 per game, Galette is second with 7.3.
SHU is in the midst of a four-game road trip with stops at; Fairfield, the University of Pittsburgh, Stony Brook, and Saint Joseph's University.
Head Coach Anthony Latina is in his 10th season as the head coach of Sacred Heart.
Galette was named to the All-NEC preseason team.
Sacred Heart was tabbed second in the NEC preseason poll.
