BUFFALO, N.Y.- A hard fought battle on the ice led to a 3-1 defeat against Canisius for the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team on Saturday.

Of Note:

Neither team tallied a goal in the opening period as goalie Justin Robbins recorded 10 saves in the period.
In the second period, Canisius found the back of the net twice coming off the sticks of Lee Lapid and Alex Ambrosio to give the Golden Griffins the 2-0 lead.
Canisius scored one more time on an empty net goal to take a 3-0 lead in the third period.
Austin Magera would avoid the shutout with his ninth goal of the season in the closing minutes of the game.
