
Ward Earns Fourth NEC Rookie of the Week Nod

First-year Jake Ward scores one goal in Saturday win against Hobart
SOMERSET, N.J. – First-year Jake Ward earned his fourth-straight Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week recognition after helping the Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team upset Hobart on Saturday.
In the 9-8 overtime thriller, Ward tallied one goal and two ground balls. His goal was the first goal of the game which came at the 12:52 mark in the first quarter. The rookie attacker attempted two shots in the outing as he now ranks second in the NEC, fifth nationally among rookies, in shot percentage at .435. Ward now has 10 goals which, along with Sal Miccio, is second on the team.
Sacred Heart will host Mount St. Mary's on Saturday as it looks for its second NEC win of the season.
