Jake Ward ties program record for most Rookie of the Week nods in a single season
SOMERSET, N.J. – For the fifth consecutive time, first-year Jake Ward was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week by the conference office on Monday. Ward is now tied with Brooks Dutton '20 for most Rookie of the Week honors in a single season at SHU.
Long Island posted two on the weekly honor list, including Richie LaCalandra as Co-Player of the Week and Will Mark as Defensive Player of the Week. Saint Joseph's Zach Cole shares the Player of the Week title with LaCalandra.
Ward posted one goal and one assist in SHU's 14-13 setback against Mount St. Mary's. The Highlands Ranch, Colo. native has scored in seven-consecutive games and ranks third on the team with 11 on the year. Ward also contributed a career-high five ground balls in the outing.
The Pioneers are back in action tomorrow when they take a week in NEC play to host Lafayette at 4 p.m.
