
Ward Breaks NEC Rookie of the Week Record

Jake Ward earned seventh weekly honor after posting two points on Saturday
SOMERSET, N.J. – For the seventh time this season, first-year Jake Ward was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week. The seventh nod breaks the NEC record which was previously held by Bryant's Tucker James in 2015.
Long Island's Richie LaCalandra earned Player of the Week while Ryan Blume (LIU) and Danny Brady (Wagner) shared Defensive Player of the Week.
In SHU's 15-10 setback to LIU on Saturday, Ward tallied two points off a goal and an assist and picked up three ground balls. He ranks third in the NEC with a .410 shot percentage as he took four shots and put one on frame against the Sharks.
The Highlands Ranch, Colo. native finished his rookie season with 17 goals, nine assists and 26 ground balls.
