NEC Unveils Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll

SHU selected seventh
SOMERSET, N.J.— The Northeast Conference released its men's soccer preseason coaches' poll on Wednesday. The Sacred Heart University was tabbed seventh.
Defending champion LIU is unanimously favored to win it again this season. St. Francis Brooklyn and Fairleigh Dickinson completed the top three.
The Pioneers experienced a lot of change this offseason. Assistant coach Anthony Anzevui was promoted to interim head coach after Joe Barroso stepped down from his role after 24 seasons.
Sacred Heart returns 15 players from last season. Among them is graduate student Lucas Miquel Castrillo and sophomore Etienne Murugarren who both earned NEC All-Conference honors in 2021. The Pioneers also welcome 12 new faces for the fall.
