Pioneers Start BC Invitational in Fourth

CANTON, Mass. – Following its first victory of the season, the Sacred Heart University women's golf team was back on the course Monday. The Pioneers opened the Boston College Invitational at the Bule Hill Country in fourth place.
SHU shot rounds of 306 & 305 for a two-round total of 611. Elon leads after the low round of the day with a 293 in the second 18 holes. The host Eagles are second at 603.
Sophomore Chantal El Chaib shot the lowest round on day one as her 69 in the first loop has her tied for the individual lead at 140 (69-71). Also in the top 20 is senior Kailee Welch at 154 (76-78). Junior Margot Rouquette had the best turnaround in round two, cutting six strokes for a 156 (81-75).
Senior Chelsea Thakkar posted a 161 (80-81) while sophomore Maya Robilio carded a 164 (83-81). Tying Thakkar was rookie Jessie Burch, who was competing as an individual, tied Thakkar with a 161 (82-79) as she cut three strokes off her opening round.
The Pioneers play the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
