Croce took fifth in the weight throw

BOSTON – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team sits in seventh place after the first two days of the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships.

SHU owns nine points through two days, two points shy of tying third-place Northeastern.

Cameron Croce leads the way for the Pioneers with four points after taking fifth in the weight throw. The graduate student tallied a throw of 17.69m.

Croce wasn't the lone Pio to tally points in the weight throw, as Daniel Blatman collected a point by finishing eighth. The Andover, Mass., native recorded a toss of 16.87m.

Rounding out SHU's point-getters was Douglas Suter, with four points in the heptathlon. The first year finished highest in the 1,000 meters (2nd) with a time of 2:49.12. He also placed fourth in the pole vault by clearing 3.65m.

The third and final day of the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships will occur tomorrow in Boston.
