FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team pulled out an 11-5 victory over Northeast Conference leader Wagner on Wednesday. The Pioneers remain undefeated in league play at 5-0, moving into the No. 1 spot.

Lydia Werlau scored back-to-back goals to put SHU up 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.
The Pioneers opened the second quarter with two unassisted goals from Werlau and junior
Kelly Nolan. Both teams traded back-and-forth points during the next 11 minutes, but it was graduate student
Grace Reinold who gave SHU the 7-4 advantage at the half.
The Pioneers dominated in the second half as they scored four goals while holding the Seahawks to just one to hang on for the victory.
Kittredge and Werlau finished with three goals apiece. Reinold notched two to reach the 100
th career goal milestone.
