
Eight Named to NEILA All-Academic Team

Men's Lacrosse honored for academics
FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team had eight athletes named to the 2023 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Teams. Members of the all-academic teams have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse careers.
Nominees must have senior or graduate student standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.
Jake Garb, Ryan Stout, Thomas Houlihan, Nick Handy, David Bartkus, Skyler Wilde, Carson Spooner, and Jack Carr were all selected to the NEILA All-Academic team. Prior to the NEILA All-Academic selections, all eight athletes were also named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team, where the Pioneers had a league-high 30 selections.
