Lim Tied for Second as SHU Sits in Seventh at Red Bandanna Invite

Lim tallied the second-best score in the second round
VERONA, N.Y. – Marcus Lim is tied for second place after the first two rounds of the Red Bandanna Invitational, hosted by Boston College on Sunday, helping the Sacred Heart University men's golf team place seventh through 36 holes.
The Pioneers own a team score of +30 606 (310-296) to sit in solo seventh place after Sunday's action. SHU saw the third-best improvement from round one to round two, as the Pios shaved 14 strokes on the second 18 holes. Sacred Heart sits just two strokes shy of sixth-place Mount St. Mary's, while Boston College holds the lead at +5 (581).
Lim is in the hunt for a season-opening win after carding a one-under 143. The Selangor, Malaysia, native's -3 in round two was the second-best score of the round, trailing Delaware's Sparky Ariyachatvakin's -4.
Jason Pelley and Mike Rothberg put together two stellar rounds to card a +10 and a +11, respectively. Pelley posted a 76 in round one and 78 in round two for a 36-hole score of 154 to tie for 28th. Rothberg, tied for 34th, posted an 82 to open the day before shedding nine strokes with a second-round one-over 73.
Pablo Lacayo and Eoin Freeman finished next on the team. Lacayo went 78 and 81 for a +15 159 to tie for 52nd on the day, while Freeman's +17 (161-85-76) was good for a tie for 57th. In 76th place, Kevin Morris rounded out SHU's competitors with a +28 172.
The Pioneers will conclude the Red Bandanna Invitational tomorrow with the final 18 holes. Round three will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
