Three different Pios tabbed goals
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team defeated Saint Peter's Wednesday evening at home, 3-1. Javier Lopez Cayuela, David Garcia Gallego and Matthias Dick tabbed the goals for the Pios.

Of Note:
The Pioneers struck first in the 27th minute as Brady Poor stopped the ball in the middle of the box and spun the ball around to meet Javier Lopez Cayuela as he placed the ball in the top right corner of the net.
David Garcia Gallego defeated a defender in the top right of the box and snuck a shot by to put the Pios on top by two in the 44th minute.
The Peacocks secured their lone goal in the 59th minute from Tim Steele.
Just six minutes later, SHU was awarded a corner opportunity where Lopez Cayuela headed a shot in but met the hand of a Peacock, ultimately leading to a penalty. Matthias Dick took the penalty and secured the goal for the 3-1 lead.
The Pios dominated outshooting the Peacocks 23-7 and 9-4 on goal.
