Men’s Golf Sits in Third After First Round of Binghamton Invite

Lacayo and Lim pace SHU in third
APALACHIN, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, hosted by Binghamton at the Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.
The Pioneers are one of four teams to shoot under par in today's opening round, sitting in third at 286 (-2). Sacred Heart trails Binghamton and Laval by one stroke at -3.
The duo of Yu Chan Ji Lim and Pablo Lacayo lead the way for the Pioneers on the individual leaderboard in a tie for third. The pair each carded a three-under 69 today. Lim tallied four birdies to just one bogie, while Lacayo finished with five birdies and one eagle.
Ethan Phillips and Mike Rothberg also tallied identical scores, as both finished the day with rounds of 74 (+2). Phillips and Rothberg are part of an eight-person tie in 30th place.
Sho Suzuki is SHU's fifth competitor at the two-day event, sitting in a tie for 82nd place.
