
Men's Lacrosse Announces 2025 Schedule

The defending MAAC Champions will open their season on Feb. 8.
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the Year, Jon Basti, has announced the Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team's schedule for the spring season. The Pioneers will have a 13-game slate, including six home games and seven road contests.
Sacred Heart will open the season on the road at Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Pioneer's home opener is a week later, on Saturday, Feb. 15 against Holy Cross at noon.
SHU will be on the road for two straight, starting with a trip to cross-town rival, Fairfield on Wednesday, Feb. 19, followed by a trip to Stony Brook on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Pioneers will wrap up non-conference play against Wagner on Saturday, March 1, and will start their title defense with MAAC play on the road at Canisius on Saturday, March 8.
SHU will return home to host Siena in conference action on Saturday, March 15, before jumping on the road to face new MAAC lacrosse opponents, Merrimack, formerly of the America East, on Saturday, March 22, and Iona, in its inaugural lacrosse season, on Wednesday, March 26.
Sacred Heart will play three of its final four games at home, first with Marist on Saturday, March 29. The Pioneers will play their last road game on Saturday, April 5.
SHU will play its final weekend home game against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, April 19, and will wrap up regular season play on Saturday, April 23.
Sacred Heart made its first NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the program's first regular and postseason titles. The Pioneers went undefeated in MAAC play, riding a program-best 11-game win streak and a program-record 13 wins. Head Coach Jon Basti was named the MAAC Coach of the Year, as the Pios had a program-best eight athletes bring in postseason MAAC awards.
