Men’s Golf Leads after first round of SHU Spring Break Invite

The Pioneers shot a two-under 286 as a team
FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team leads the nine-team field at the SHU Spring Break Invitational after the first round of the Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island, Fla.
The Pioneers own a first-round score of two-under 286. Ferris State and Purdue Fort Wayne are tied for second at 290 (+2). Northeast Conference (NEC) foe Merrimack is in seventh after carding a 301 (+13).
Marcus Lim paces the tournament with a four-under 68 on the day. The outstanding senior three of his first nine holes and two of his final nine.
In second for the Pioneers is Mike Rothberg in a tie for fifth. The sophomore from Fairfield shot a two-under 70 with four birdies on the day.
Eoin Freeman is in third for SHU with a one-over 73. He carded one birdie on each nine.
The Pioneer trio of Jason Pelley (+3), Conor Handley (+4) and Pablo Lacayo (+5) sit within one stroke of each other in T24th, T31st and T36th, respectively. Rounding out SHU's golfers was Alex Turlik (+21) in 63rd.
