O'Reilly, Thomas Bring in MAAC Weekly Awards

SHU wins pair of awards after a 2-0 week
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team has brought in a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards after a two-win week, extending its win streak to eight and capturing the MAAC Regular Season Title. Morgan O'Reilly was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, and MP Thomas earned the Face-Off Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
In the two games for the Pios, O'Reilly had a total of 14 points, coming from 10 goals and four assists. He led all players in SHU's 13-12 victory over Quinnipiac tallying four goals with two assists. O'Reilly followed that up with a six-point outing against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. The senior attackman recorded eight points coming from six goals and two assists. With his fourth goal of the game, he eclipsed the 100-career goal milestone.
Thomas had a huge week for the Pioneers. In the victory over Quinnipiac, he dominated face-offs, going 13-for-20 and collected five ground balls. Against Mount St. Mary's, he went 2-for-4 with one ground ball. Overall, he had a 62%-win percentage at 15-24.
Sacred Heart wraps up the regular season on the road on Saturday, April 20, at 11:00 AM at Canisius.
