Men’s Golf in Tie for Eighth after Opening Day of Seattle U Redhawk Invite

Lim and Rothberg both sit under par
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team opened the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational in a tie for eighth place on Monday at the Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash.
The Pioneers finished the first two rounds Monday with an 11-over 579 with almost identical rounds of 290 and 289. SHU is tied with Seton Hall in eighth. Oregon State (557, -11) owns a three-stroke lead on second-place Idaho (560, -8).
Marcus Lim is leading Sacred Heart in a tie for eighth. The senior posted a round-one 71 (E) before a three-under 68 put him at 139 (-3) for the tournament. He finished the day with four birdies and two eagles, both coming on par fours.
Mike Rothberg is second for the Pioneers in a T16. He finished the opening 36 holes at minus one with a score of 141 (71-70). The sophomore posted seven birdies in the first two rounds, including five in his second 18 holes.
Rounding out SHU's five competitors are Eoin Freeman, Jason Pelley and Pablo Lacayo. Freeman is tied for 68th with a score of 149 (+7), while Pelley is tied for 73rd with a score of 150 (+8). Lacayo carded a 153 (+11) to tie for 88th.
The Pioneers are back on the course this morning to conclude the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational with round three.
