Pioneers Strike Early but Fall to North Florida in Seven-Inning Decision

Sacred Heart jumped out early but couldn’t keep pace as the North Florida Ospreys pulled away for a 12-2 win in seven innings by run rule.
Gavin Donohue set the tone in the first, doubling to left-center and later scoring on a single from Will Cook to give the Pioneers an early lead.
Daniel Rice III doubled to right-center in the second, but Sacred Heart was unable to bring him home.
North Florida evened the score with a run in the third and seized control with four runs in the fourth. Gavin Donohue provided another highlight in the fifth, lifting a solo home run to left field, though the Ospreys answered with a run in the inning.
North Florida added a run in the sixth and broke the game open with five runs in the seventh to secure the run-rule victory.
