Pabich wins his first Forward of the Week nod, while Adamson is the Defenseman of the Week
BOSTON – After leading Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey to a sweep of Holy Cross, seniors Reid Pabich and Mikey Adamson earned Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) weekly awards.
Pabich won his first weekly honor after being named the Forward of the Week, while Adamson won his fourth career Defenseman of the Week nod. SHU defeated the Crusaders in a critical AHA series on Friday and Saturday, winning by a 10-3 margin. The Pios took the opener on Friday by a 5-1 final score before winning 5-2 on Saturday on Senior Night.
With six points from four goals and two assists, Pabich led the team in goals, power play goals (2), and points. His weekend began with a goal and an assist during Friday's win, including an assist on the game-winner. The next night, he delivered his collegiate-best with a first-ever hat trick. Down 2-0 in the second, he sparked a rapid comeback, netting the team's first goal and igniting a 1:15 stretch of three goals. The senior also assisted on the game-winner and scored twice more in the third to seal the victory.
Adamson led the Pioneers with four assists to help the team secure the weekend sweep. He tallied two apples in both games, assisting on both eventual game-winners. Adamson assisted on the second and third goals of Friday's 5-1 win and the first and third goals of Saturday's 5-2 triumph, all of which were on the power play. He helped SHU's PP unit go 5-for-8 on the weekend. He also played a key role on the Pioneers' penalty kill unit, going 10-for-11 over both games.
This weekend, the Pios travel to West Point, N.Y., to close out the 2025-26 regular season at Army. Friday's matchup against the Black Knights begins at 7 p.m. on Feb. 27.
