SHU went from fourth to second in the conference after going 6-2-0 in February
BOSTON – After an outstanding February that saw the Pioneers surge to second place in the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) standings, both Felix Trudeau and Noah Ellis won monthly awards from the conference.
The Pioneers went 6-2-0 in the month, ending the month on a four-game win streak. Before the Mercyhurst series on Feb. 6-7, SHU was fourth in the league standings with 30 points. Over the next eight games, the Pios erased a seven-point deficit against RIT to claim the No. 2 seed.
Trudeau was named the AHA Forward of the Month for a second time this year. He led the conference with 12 points and 10 assists. Both of the senior forward's goals were game winners. He ended the month with a five-game point streak, with the final three all being three-point games. All three of his three-point games came in SHU wins. The Pios led the conference in goals in the month with 28.
Ellis finished the month tied for the lead in the conference among defensemen with three goals and was tied for second with eight points.
