Pioneers End Spring Trip with 5-2 Loss to Evansville

ORLANDO, FL (March 8, 2012) - The Sacred Heart women's tennis team closed out their annual spring trip with a 5-2 loss to Evansville Thursday morning. The Pioneers finish the trip 2-2 and come back home to Fairfield at 4-6 in dual matches.
The Pioneers two points came in singles play as freshman Nicole Rydzewski (Maspeth, NY) and senior Kate Donnelly (Centerville, MA) picked up wins at #2 and #3. Rydzewski beat Natasha James in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-4. Donnelly battled to a three-set win over Mina Milovic, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-8.
SHU won at #2 doubles behind sophomore Gabi Kaldan (New Brunswick, NJ) and senior Delaney Downing (Englewood, CO). The duo teamed to beat Emily Richardson and Kelsey Costales, 8-3.
Sacred Heart is next in action on Monday, March 19th when they travel to Saint Peter's.
