NEW HAVEN – The Sacred Heart women's tennis team was swept by Drexel on Saturday evening at Yale, dropping the Pioneers to 1-4 on the year.
SHU's best opportunities for a victory came at second and third doubles, where the Pioneers dropped 6-4 decisions. Katie DeRienzo teamed with Taylor Gurda at second doubles, while Olivia Podsiebierski and Claudia Ruiz were paired at third. Podsiebierski also won the most games in a singles match, losing 6-4, 6-3, at fourth singles.
Sacred Heart returns to Yale tomorrow to host Colgate at 2 pm.
