The Pioneers return to the Pitt Center after two straight road games
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's basketball returns home to take on Dartmouth on Thursday, December 21 in the William H. Pitt Center at 11:30 am. Admission to the game is free.

- Sacred Heart dropped its road contest at UAlbany on Tuesday, 93-79.
- Alex Sobel led four Pioneers in double figures, scoring a season-high 23 points for SHU.
- Aidan Carpenter dropped 16 points for his second straight double-figure performance.
- Kyle McGee tallied his 1,000th career point after scoring 12 against UAlbany. He also led the Pioneers in rebounds with seven.
- Joey Reilly added 11 points and Brendan McGuire dished out a team-high five assists.
OPENING TIP:
- Sacred Heart and Dartmouth meet for the third time in series history. Both teams hold a win over one another. SHU won the first game, 79-73, in 2017. While Dartmouth won 82-73 in 2018. Both teams won on their home court.
- SHU returns home after back-to-back road games at Providence and UAlbany.
- Three Pioneers are averaging in double figures: Nico Galette (14.1), Alex Sobel (11.5), and Tanner Thomas (10.8). Sobel leads the team in rebounds (6.8), and Galette is second with 6.6 rpg.
- Sobel is tied for seventh in the nation in blocks with 29 (as of 12/19) and is 15th in blocks per game with 2.42.
- Kyle McGee recorded his 1,000th career point on Tuesday at UAlbany.
- Galette and Thomas have brought in NEC Player of the Week awards for the Pioneers this season.
- Galette, Reilly, and Kyle McGee were voted captains of the 2023-24 squad.
- SHU was selected first in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Galette and Reilly were selected to the All-NEC preseason team. Galette and Reilly earned All-NEC first and third-team honors last season, respectively.
