Sacred Heart Falls on the Road at Fairfield

Alex Pazienza made a career-high 15 saves
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team fell 17-5 on the road at Fairfield University in a cross-town rivalry game on Wednesday evening. Johnny Morgan led the Pioneers with two goals, and junior goalkeeper Alex Pazienza recorded a career-high 15 saves for Sacred Heart.

The Pioneers couldn't score in the opening quarter, but Pazienza kept Sacred Heart in it, only allowing one goal. Pazienza made four huge saves in the opening frame as SHU trailed 1-0.
Morgan scored twice for the Pioneers in the second quarter, but the Stags put away six goals for a 7-2 halftime advantage.
Miccio scored his fourth goal of the season during the third quarter, and Wilde found the back of the net for the first time this season as the two scorers for Sacred Heart in the third quarter. Fairfield extended its lead to 12-4 in the third quarter.
Fairfield scored first in the fourth quarter to take a 13-4 lead. Bartkus scored his first of the season on a shorthanded opportunity at 12:15 to cut the Pioneers' deficit, to 13-5. The Stags would go on to score four unanswered goals to take the 17-5 final.
