
Three Pioneers Named to the All-MAAC Team

David Garcia Gallego Secures All-MAAC First Team Honors
EDISON, N.J. – David Garcia Gallego, Matthias Dick, and Sam McCann were named All-Conference by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), announced by the league office on Monday morning.
Junior midfielder Gallego was named to the All-MAAC first team, starting 14 games for SHU. The Spain native led the Pios in the regular season with five goals. The captain has effectively pressured opponents' defense, totaling 47 shots and 21 on goal.
Dick, a junior defender from Germany, secured All-MAAC third team – his first conference recognition of his career. He tallied three goals for the Pioneers as he has been a critical penalty kick taker, going 3-for-3 from the spot. Playing in 14 games, Dick has been a playmaker for SHU as he effectively moved the ball up the field for the Pios.
McCann, a junior forward, was also tabbed All-MAAC third team. The Quinnipiac transfer added depth to the SHU offense with three goals and four assists. In 13 games, McCann has totaled 27 shots and 14 shots on goal. This is McCann's second All-MAAC recognition, as he was named to the All-MAAC rookie team in 2021 for the Bobcats.
