Ava Nelson wins her first collegiate match
STORRS, CT. -It was the underclassmen showing up big for the Pios as the Sacred Heart Women's Tennis team opened their 2025-26 season at the Universitty of Connecticut this past weekend.
First-year Ava Nelson snags her first victory as a Pioneer and had a winning singles record with 2 wins and 1 loss over the weekend. Sophomore Kailin Gochna had a successful weekend as well earning two wins at UConn. Gochna also won both doubles matches for an overall record of 4-1. Ava Nelson went 3-2 overall vs the Huskies.
Women's Tennis will travel to West Point N.Y. on the weekend of September 26th as they will play Army in duels.
