Nelson earns her second MAAC award while Bagirathan earns first
EDISON, N.J. - Ava Nelson and Savita Bagirathan of the Sacred Heart University Women's Tennis team earn the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player and Rookie of the Week award.
Both Nelson and Bagirathan went 2-0 in singles & doubles this week in the team 5-2 win vs Lehigh. The pair of Nelson and Malena del Olmo cruised to a 6-2 doubles win while the duo of Bagirathan and Brooke Tuffs won 6-4 versus a pair of Hawks. In singles, Nelson dominated 6-3 & 6-0 in #1 singles while Bagirathan won in #2 singles.
The Pioneers host Mount St Marys on Saturday February 21st as they open up conference play at the Tennis Club of Trumbull at 6:00 PM.
