Raleigh, N.C. – Sacred Heart ran into a tough matchup on the road, falling 13–0 in seven innings to the NC State Wolfpack after the Wolfpack pulled away with steady offense across the first six frames.
Sacred Heart opened the game looking to settle in early, but NC State Wolfpack struck first in the bottom of the first. Underhill punched out two hitters, yet the Wolfpack pushed across two runs.
The second inning got away, as NC State added four more to build separation.
Sacred Heart answered with defense in the fourth. A pop up was hauled in by Kyle Cincinnati, who fired to CJ Nolan at second to complete a sharp double play and stop the inning.
But the Wolfpack kept adding on. Four runs came home in the fifth, followed by three more in the sixth, stretching the margin despite Sacred Heart's effort to limit further damage. Sacred Heart fell 13–0 in a seven-inning run-rule decision.
