
#20 Sacred Heart Stays Perfect with 13–5 Win at Manhattan

RIVERDALE, N.Y. — Will Moulton and John Murray each recorded hat tricks as the #20 Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team defeated Manhattan, 13–5, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action on Wednesday afternoon at Gaelic Park. The Pioneers have now won nine consecutive games and remain undefeated on the season.

How It Happened:
Moulton opened the scoring just two minutes into the game, and after a lengthy scoring drought, Sacred Heart erupted for five goals in just over three minutes to close the first quarter with a 6-0 lead, highlighted by two goals from Dom Basti.
Manhattan scored twice in the second quarter to cut the deficit to four, but Moulton added his second goal of the game late in the half to send Sacred Heart into the break with a 7-2 advantage.
Matt Pepe and Murray scored back-to-back goals to open the second half, extending the lead to 9-2. After a Manhattan goal, Murray completed his hat trick to make it 10-3. The Jaspers answered again, but Jake Carney and Jake Holmes scored twice in the final 1:03 of the third quarter to give the Pioneers a 12-4 lead heading into the fourth.
Moulton completed his hat trick just 34 seconds into the fourth quarter to push the lead to 13-4. Manhattan added one late goal, but Sacred Heart closed out a 13-5 victory for its ninth straight win.
Ryan Grove dominated at the faceoff X, winning 15 of 18 draws and collecting five ground balls. Senior goalkeeper Craig Daria made 10 saves, recording double-digit saves for the eighth time this season.
