Wappingers Falls, N.Y. – Sacred Heart jumped out to an early lead, but Rider rallied in the late innings to secure a 9–3 victory.
Sacred Heart struck first in the bottom of the second when Peter Link singled to left field, bringing Will Rudolph home to put the Pioneers on the board.
The Pioneers added to their lead in the third inning. Will Cook doubled through the right side to score Ryan Rey, and later Will Rudolph singled to bring Cook home, giving Sacred Heart a 3–0 advantage heading into the fourth.
Defensively, the Pioneers turned a key play in the sixth inning as Gavin Donohue started a double play with a throw to Nathan Bowes at home, who then fired to Ryan Rey at second to end the inning.
Rider responded in the later innings, scoring runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth to pull ahead and ultimately take the 9–3 win.
