High School
While at Berlin High School, Mason played football and wrestled. He was named Captain of the football team in 2010 as well as All-State and All-Conference twice. He was named wrestling captain twice and All-State and All-Conference three times. In 2009 and 2010, his team was the Football COnference Champs, and in 2009 they won the State Championship.
