KINGSTON, RI — One inning was the undoing of the Sacred Heart University baseball team on Wednesday. The Pioneers fell 7-3 against Atlantic 10 Conference opponent the University of Rhode Island.

Of Note:
- The Pioneers led off the scoring in the fourth inning with a single up the middle by Trevor Fagan which drove home Danny Glendon, who led off the inning with a base hit.
- The Rams garnered six of their seven runs in the fourth inning. SHU did not help itself in the inning, committing a pair of errors
- In the seventh inning, a pair of errors on the same play scored Elijah Brown and Fagan.
- Starter Jake McDowell took the loss, letting up four earned runs, three earned, with two strikeouts.
