Baseball Opens NEC Play with 6-0 Loss at CCSU

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — In their first Northeast Conference game of the season, the Sacred Heart University baseball team was shutout 6-0 against Central Connecticut State University on Friday.
Sacred Heart fell to 2-12 overall while the Blue Devils improved to 4-2.
The highlight for the Pioneers was senior Isiah Daubon who went 2-4 at the dish with a pair of singles which extended his hitting streak to four games. SHU's best chance to score came in the top of the fifth. Julian Pedrouzo had a one-out single then moved up to second on Elijah Brown's single. Unfortunately, both runners were stranded on base.
The Pioneers continue their three-day series against the Blue Devils on March 20 at 1:00 p.m.
