
Baseball Falls 3-2 at Sharks after Walk-Off Homer

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Despite a solid seven innings from starting pitcher Jake Babuschak, a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth sealed the narrow defeat for the Sacred Heart University baseball team who were on the road against LIU. The Pioneers fell 3-2 to the Sharks on Monday, which gave LIU the series 2-1.

Of Note:
- After five innings knotted at zero, SHU led off the scoring in the top of the sixth with their only two runs of the game.
- Austin Markmann grounded out to the second base and drove in Justin Jordan, followed by a single to right field by Robert Farruggio that allowed Elijah Brown to cross the plate.
- The Sharks tied the game in the eighth inning but hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to secure the victory.
- Brendan Coffey was saddled with his first season loss after coming on in relief in the bottom of the eighth inning.
