LIU Bests Pioneers in NEC Opener

Pioneers fall, 6-1
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team picked up wins at second doubles and sixth singles but came up short at Long Island, 6-1, on Friday afternoon.
The Pioneers start Northeast Conference competition 0-1 and fall to 1-6 on the season while the Sharks grow to 2-1 on the year and 1-0 against the NEC.
The doubles pair of Kevin Chao and Philip Lynch outlasted LIU's Guilherme de Medeiros and Sergio Fernandez Romera, 7-5. In singles action, Ayman Khan topped Medeiros in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
