Men’s Tennis Falls to Boston University in Home Opener

Laennec-Baffrey picks up both singles and doubles wins
TRUMBULL, Conn. – In its home opener, the Sacred Heart University men's tennis team fell to Boston University Sunday evening by a final score of 5-2.
In doubles play, first year Enrique Laennec-Baffrey and senior Lefteri Apostolou defeated BU's Jonah Dickson and Cole Knutsen in a hard-fought 7-5 set. In No. 3 doubles, Matyas Vencl and Darius Eftekhar battled hard, but fell short to the Terriers, 7-6.
Laennec-Baffrey earned his second win of the day in No. 4 singles after claiming both sets by a score of 6-3 and 6-2. Junior Antoine Hernandez also picked up a three-set singles win in the No. 3 spot. Hernadez won the opening set 7-6 before BU forced the tying set, 3-6, but Hernandez came up on top, 6-3.

The Pioneers are back in action on Sunday, Feb. 11, with a road match against Merrimack College at 1:45 p.m.
