Pioneers Drop Tight Match to Wagner

Hernandez secures No. 1 singles win
TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team fell to Wagner in a close 4-3 result on Friday night.
The Seahawks secured the double points with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Brennan Hart-Nova and Connor Liona secured the No. 2 doubles win 6-4.
The Pioneers secured No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 singles but were unable to secure the win. Antoine Hernandez secured No. 1, 6-0, 1-6, 6-4. Paul Goncalves defeated his opponent at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 3 singles, Luca LaFrance secured the point in a 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(6) decision.
The Pioneers head to Pennsylvania to face Lehigh next Saturday, February 15, at noon.
