Men’s Ice Hockey Hands Bentley 4-0 Loss at Home
2/13/2026 10:31:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
Ellis led the way with three points for SHU
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team put together a complete showing on Friday evening to roll league-leading Bentley in a 4-0 road win in Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) play at Bentley Arena in Waltham, Mass.
Records:
SHU: 15-11-3, 11-7-3 AHA
Bentley: 16-9-5, 14-4-4 AHA
How It Happened
The Pioneers and Falcons traded blows in the first period, as neither team scored in a hard-fought frame. Both teams finished with 11 shots in the period, as the game went to the second tied at 0-0.
It didn't take the Pios long to capitalize on a power play early in the second, taking a 1-0 lead by 3:25. At the tail end of the extra-man opportunity, a fortunate bounce put the puck at the feet of Vitaly Levyy and Ray Fust, where Levyy flicked then flicked it over the goaltender for his fourth career goal.
SHU's lead grew to 2-0 by 10:21 in the second after another power play. This time, the extra-man had just ended when Fust took a pass from Levyy and buried a one-timer from the left circle.
The Pioneers added another goal 8:47 into the third to go up 3-0. Reid Pabich netted the goal after streaking up the ice, splitting a defender and the Bentley goaltender with an outstation hesitation move in front of the crease.
Ellis capped the game with SHU's fourth goal of the evening. The senior blueliner, in his 99th career game, fired a rocket from the left circle that proved to be too powerful for Lukas Swedin to catch.
Despite being a first year, Teagan Kendrick posted a mature showing between the pipes, turning away all 28 shots he faced away. The St. Albert, Alberta, native collected his second shutout of the season and improved to 9-6-2.
